Finglas

This was something new for me at the time. But something I've always waited for. When Caterina Rocchi, my editor for this project, asked me to do something for a publisher that wasn't aware of what manga was, I was immediately curious. 
The publisher was Tunué, one of the most important Comic and Graphic Novel italian publisher, and they never actually made clear before that thay wanted to approach a new language system like the manga's one. I was into manga in 2023 (I still am) and I wanted to do something different from my usual narrative genres and targets. this was the perfect chance. 

And here comes "Finglas", another collaboration with a friend of mine, Alessandro Duma, who wrote the short novel from which this manga is taken. Alessandro was the obvious choice for this project, because I knew the tastes of the publisher, and I knew a mainstream shonen manga wouldn't have conquered their heart. So I went with a romance and slice of life instead, a genre Alessandro is a master of.

One year later, and something like 190 manga pages done in 4 months with a completely different style from my usual, Finglas was done. But it would have been almost a year later that the phisical book would hit the shelves, in Lucca Comics & Games 2025. 

Caterina stayed with me until the very end, and I wouldn't have been able to approach something this different without her. So, here we go again, a pretty happy collab with two colleagues, two friends of mine, two talents I'm very proud to know and to work with. Enjoy the pages.
